| Some successful cases: |
| 1. A fifty-nine-year-old Mr. Xu
living in Flushing, NY . was sent to hospital for a stroke of apoplexy
in December 1996. Twenty days later, he left hospital when his conditions became stable. His right
hand and leg, however, were paralyzed. His facial complexion was famished,
and his tongue had a thick white coating. According to Chinese medicine,
the apoplexy was caused by deficiency of qi and yang, which
blocked the blood vessels mainly in brain. After receiving Dr. Yuan’s acupuncture and
massage for a period of treatment, the patient's right limbs felt warmer,
and his ability of physical movement was visibly improved. After each
treatment, Dr. Yuan would give the patient a prescription of physical
exercise, active and passive alike. The patient was able to move about and
take care of himself in daily life after another one and a half periods of
treatment. 2. A sixty-four-year-old Mr. Zhao living in Shanghai China was sent to hospital for a sudden relapse of apoplexy in August 1988. He was discharged one month later when his conditions became stable, but his right side was paralyzed. His limbs were stiff and were constantly shivering; his facial complexion and eyes were both red, and his tongue was redder than normal with a thick yellow coating. According to Chinese medicine, this was caused by the excessive rise of the liver-yin. After receiving Dr. Yuan’s acupuncture and massage treatment combine with some western medicine the patient’s right limbs became less stiff. Before the end of the third period of treatment, his joints were flexible enough to take care of himself in daily life. |
